The following information provides details on upcoming enhancements to CME Globex, scheduled for phased implementation during
the first and second quarters of 2006, as well as the unveiling of a new Market Data Platform Lite Channel, due in the first
quarter.
CME Globex Enhancements
CME has bundled a number of product and technological enhancements for launch in the first and second quarters of 2006. These
releases include enhancements to:
Request for Cross (RFC) orders
- Ex-Pit Transactions (a new transaction type indicator)
- New functionality for CME Eurodollar options on futures
- New spreads for CME Eurodollar futures (6 new spread types)
These enhancements feature changes to CME market data messages. Information on these releases can be found in the CME Globex Platform Enhancements Client Impact document. The sections within this document that should be of particular interest to distributors include section 1, which details
message specifications for RFC orders and ex-pit transactions, and sections 5 and 7, which detail+ the new spread types.
CME Market Data Platform Lite Channel
In the first quarter of 2006, CME is launching the CME Market Data Platform Lite Channel. The Lite Channel will decrease
bandwidth requirements for distributors who receive their market data depth in RLC format via the CME Market Data Platform
(MDP) by utilizing intelligent filters to control message quantity. Distributors will be able to receive CME futures market
data on a T1 connection via the Lite Channel without any critical data delays or latencies.
For more information on the new CME Market Data Platform Lite Channel, please see the CME Market Data Lite Channel Client Impact Document.
